EIMA International, the International Agricultural and Gardening Machinery Exhibition, returns to Bologna, Italy from 10 to 14 November. McCormick, an Argo Tractors brand, will showcase its latest product innovations, the result of advanced technological development focused on innovative, sustainable solutions designed to meet the needs of increasingly demanding customers. Among the highlights is the new Precision Steering Management (PSM), the latest-generation satellite-assisted guidance system developed in-house by Argo Tractors and available across the entire McCormick range. It adds a new element to McCormick's digital offering, which already includes dedicated Farm Management and Fleet Management apps.
A major highlight of the McCormick range at EIMA will be the X7.627 VT-Drive, a tractor developed to combine performance, operational capability, comfort and digital integration.
The tractor is powered by a 6.7-litre FPT N67 engine delivering 271 hp, with full power always available. It features a four-stage VT-Drive (continuously variable) transmission with a ZF gearbox, providing smooth and efficient speed control for both field operations and road transport.
The CCLS hydraulic system offers a maximum flow rate of 212 l/min. Up to six rear remote valves are available, each with a flow rate of 140 l/min, along with three front remotes for implements and the front hitch. The front hitch is integrated directly into the tractor's cast-iron chassis for added structural strength.
The new X7.627 VT-Drive also marks a significant styling evolution, with completely redesigned bonnet lines following the family design language created by the Argo Tractors Design Centre. The front light clusters have also been redesigned to give the tractor a more modern and distinctive appearance.
On board, the Clever Cab Plus retains the architecture already used across McCormick's high-power ranges and introduces the upgraded DSM Plus infotainment system. It comprises two displays: one positioned behind the steering wheel, acting as a natural extension of the main 12-inch high-resolution touch-screen monitor. The software has been completely redesigned around usability principles inspired by smartphones. The interface uses widgets in three sizes - small, medium and large - which the operator can resize and reposition using touch commands, creating different dashboards to suit field or transport operations. DSM Plus also integrates PSM - Precision Steering Management - with satellite guidance controlled directly from the tractor's display. This extends the product offering from ISOBUS-equipped tractors ready for assisted guidance to full technological integration with Farm and Fleet Management Digital Solutions.
The technology package can be further enhanced by mirror cams, which replace conventional rear-view mirrors with cameras mounted on the cab frame and displays on the internal cab pillars. The result is significantly improved visibility, eliminating the blind spots created by conventional wide-angle mirrors alongside the pillars. This provides a practical safety benefit when cornering, at intersections and during manoeuvres. Another advantage is that there are no mirrors to readjust after contact with a branch or another obstacle.
The X7.627 VT-Drive has a wheelbase of 2,940 mm, a shipping weight of approximately 9,600 kg and a maximum permissible weight of 14,500 kg. Where permitted, it reaches a type-approved top speed of 60 km/h, supported by a high-performance braking system with Power Brake, developed to ensure safety and control even during high-speed road transport. External disc brakes complete the braking system.
Another feature of the VT-Drive transmission is SmartPower Zero, which allows the operator to select the direction of travel while the tractor remains stationary at 0 km/h. The tractor only moves when the operator requests movement using the accelerator pedal or the EasyPilot multifunction joystick.
McCormick renews the top end of its range with the X8.634 VT-Drive, powered by a 340 hp FPT N67 Stage V engine and equipped with a VT-Drive continuously variable transmission.
There are three main updates. First, the power rating rises to 340 hp. Second, the type-approved top speed is 60 km/h, made possible by the same technology already introduced on the X7.627 VT-Drive. Third, the transmission gains the new SmartPower Zero function, which allows the operator to select the direction of travel while the tractor remains stationary at 0 km/h. The tractor only moves when the operator requests movement using the accelerator pedal or the EasyPilot.
The high-capacity 212 l/min hydraulic system can handle particularly demanding implements, while the upgraded digital ecosystem allows the operator to control the tractor's main functions, implements and precision farming systems from a single interface.
The most visible update concerns the design. While retaining the same dimensions, the X8.634 VT-Drive introduces a new front-end configuration with sharper, more dynamic lines and LED light clusters seamlessly integrated into the structure. The new family design, conceived and developed by the Argo Tractors Design Centre, gives the X8.634 VT-Drive a more modern, distinctive and immediately recognisable identity.
The dimensions of the X8 range remain unchanged, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, a shipping weight of approx.11,000 kg and a maximum permissible weight of 16,000 kg.
The X7.624 VT-Drive will be on display at EIMA 2026 in Digital Edition configuration, featuring a new dark grey livery with graphic elements that emphasise the tractor's strong technological character. Digital Edition also brings together the full suite of digital solutions developed by Argo Tractors, giving the user an integrated ecosystem designed to optimise even the most intensive work cycles, supporting productivity and the economic sustainability of farming operations.
A key element of the package is PSM - Precision Steering Management, which uses advanced RTK satellite positioning technology to control the tractor's path with 2 cm accuracy. This can deliver fuel and fertiliser savings of up to 13% compared with operation without this technological support.
These benefits are complemented by the McCormick Farm app, which allows farmers to manage and organise agronomic operations, and the McCormick Fleet Management app for monitoring tractors in the field and carrying out remote diagnostics.
All these solutions can be managed from the latest-generation Clever Cab Plus, featuring an Evo Top driver seat upholstered in Alcantara, with swivel adjustment and air suspension, heated electrically adjustable rear-view mirrors, automatic climate control and electronically controlled semi-active hydraulic cab suspension.
At the heart of the driving experience is DSM Plus - Data Screen Manager Plus - comprising a 12-inch touch screen monitor dedicated to operating parameters and a second 12-inch display that serves as the digital dashboard and can be controlled via an encoder on the multifunction armrest.
In this configuration, the McCormick X7.624 VT-Drive Digital Edition combines high performance with cost-efficient operation through a powertrain that pairs a six-cylinder FPT N67 engine delivering up to 240 hp with the proven VT-Drive continuously variable transmission.
The specification also includes a closed-centre hydraulic system delivering 160 l/min to eight electrohydraulic remote valves, a four-speed PTO offering 540 and 1,000 rpm in both standard and ECO modes, an electronic rear hitch with a lift capacity of up to 9,300 kg and an electronic front hitch lifting up to 3,500 kg, along with front ballast of up to 1,400 kg.
Fitted as standard, DSM Plus integrates PSM satellite guidance and ISOBUS implement control. Functions managed through the system include MyFunctions, which stores operating functions; MyHMF, which recalls headland sequences; MyLights, which controls 12 work lights; MyUser, which stores the settings of each operator; and MyTractor.
